A fun sunny day activity! This recipe is simple and a great time to stick out your tongue and talk about taste buds. Do you know that the average person has over 10,000 taste buds which help us to distinguish sweet, sour, salty and bitter?

WHAT YOU NEED

9 large lemons
1/2 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
5 cups water
ice cubes, as desired
sealable plastic bags

HOW TO MAKE IT

1. Remove the peel from 8 of the lemons.

2. Place the peeled lemons in a sturdy, sealable plastic bag. Squeeze the air out of the bag and close it tightly.

3. Squish it! Keep squishing until you have juice and pulp.

4. Hold the bag over a large pitcher. Cut a small hole in the corner of the bag (keep it over the pitcher!). Let the juice out. Clear hole of any pulp clogs as you go. For more pulp, cut a bigger hole. For less pulp, pour through a strainer.

5. Add the sugar and 2 cups of water. Stir until sugar is dissolved.

6. Add the remaining water. Stir again.

7. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

8. In a glass: add ice, pour lemonade, garnish with lemon extras, insert straw and enjoy!
